Overview

Suitable for kitchens, bathrooms and interior plaster, masonry and wood, Dulux Trade Diamond Eggshell is a durable, quick drying paint with a mid sheen finish. The Diamond Technology makes it resistant to everyday household stains and 10 times tougher than Dulux Trade Vinyl Silk. The water base means it has a low odour and low VOC content. As long as the proper prep is carried out, Dulux Trade Diamond Eggshell can be applied over surfaces previously coated with oil based paints.

Preparation

Ensure the surfaces to be painted are sound, clean and dry and free from defective or flaking paint, dirt, grease and waxes.

• Thorough preparation is necessary when painting over surfaces previously coated with a conventional solvent-based paint. Rub down previously painted surfaces using ‘wet flatting’ methods where possible, then wipe off with a damp, lint free cloth.
• Treat knots with a knotting solution and fill holes with a suitable filler.
• New or bare surfaces should be primed with an appropriate Dulux Trade Primer.

Note: Special precautions should be taken when prepping pre-1960s paint surfaces over wood and metal as they may contain harmful lead.

Application

Always follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin. It is recommended that a small test area is applied before treating the entire surface to ensure compatibility.

• Stir thoroughly before use.
• New or bare surface should be sealed with the first coat of 10 parts Dulux Trade Diamond Eggshell thinned with 1 part clean water.
• Apply 1-2 full coats of Dulux Trade Diamond Eggshell with a brush, roller, conventional or airless sprayer.
• Generally 2 coats are required, however on previously painted surfaces in good condition where similar colours are used, 1 coat may be enough.
