Overview

Ronseal Stays White 2 in 1 Primer & Paint is a water based paint for use on bare or previously painted interior wood. There’s no need for a separate primer or paint and it comes with a 10 year stay white guarantee. Along with its non drip formulation this products makes application simple and easy to do.

Preparation

Always ensure the sure is clean and free from any contaminates that may effect adhesion

• Lightly sand with a 120 grit sandpaper, working in the direction of the grain.
• If your paintwork is in bad condition and is cracked or peeling sand back to the barewood to provide a smooth surface.
• Wipe with white spirit and a cloth to clean grease, dirt and dust.
• If there are any cracks or holes fill them with an appropriate wood filler.
• If you spot any knots that will ruin your paint job, use a knot blocker to stop them darkening.

Application

Before applying test a small area to ensure you are happy with colour and adhesion.

• Thoroughly stir your paint and primer to get rid of any lumps and to give it a smooth consistency.
• Using a synthectic brush, apply the paint in the direction of the wood grain.
• Allow to dry for 4 hours.
• Apply a second coat.
• Surface will be touch dry in 30 minutes and completley dry in 4 hours.

Note: Always follow the manufacturer instructions found on the tin.

Aftercare & Storage

Once the paint and primer has dried, you can clean your wood as normal. If you have any damage to your paintwork simply sand down the area and reapply the paint and primer just like you did when you first painted it.
